The Barony of Cynnabar invites the fiber artisans of the Known World to show their works, demonstrate their crafts, and learn from one another.WHAT: Our Second Annual Fiber Arts Event -- An event completely focused on the fiber arts in the SCA period. There will be classes, demonstrations, A&S displays, and a stash exchange.WHEN: Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 9:00 am-7:00 pm WHERE: 122 W. Michigan Ave., Saline, MI 48176 (click for driving directions) WHO: Fiber artists and admirers Teachers: We are currently looking for teachers. Classes can be on any topic related to fiber arts in the SCA period, including but not limited to: costume construction, sewing, spinning, weaving, embroidery, nailbinding, knitting, dye stuff, felting, basketry, fiber preparation, fiber production, etc. Classes may be from 1-3 hours in length. Teachers can contact THL Halima bint al-Rabii'. Stash Exchange: Donate your unused fiber supplies and tools to the Stash Exchange. Participation is simple -- leave your yarn, wool, fabric, fiber tools, etc., on the Stash Exchange table. If you see something you like, simply leave a small donation (for the Royal Travel Fund) and its yours! No need to have brought something to take something. Items left at the end of they day will be donated to a thrift store. |
