Archery & Thrown Weapons

Welcome to Archery and Thrown Weapons at Spring Crown Tourney!
Saturday, May 23, 2015

We hope to provide you with an opportunity to have a truly excellent day on the ranges with a touch of pageantry, a bit of education, and all of the shooting you can handle. This event will be simultaneously hosting a tourney of archery champions, a full thrown weapons range with knife ax spear & atyl atyl, a training range with loaner gear, the main range with all day self-scored royal round, clout and bear pit shoots, and the novelty range with various yet to be determined shoots and a on field bean count archery / thrown weapons A&S display.

1) The Midrealm Archery Champions will be presenting today. Look to them for examples of courtesy, skill, and prowess. The champions will be teaching, will have made something for the A&S, and will be among you shooting. The champions will be given a yard of gold cord to identify them.

2) We are holding a very informal archery-based bean count A&S on the field. I would like to see an emphasis on practical everyday items. If you are willing to talk to people about what you did and how you did it place your arms on the item and yourself. The idea is to show how to do things better faster and cheaper.

3) The archery range is on the football field behind the school. Parking is available by the range

4) Large private day camps are encouraged to set up on the grass just outside the gate. Smaller or communal day caps will be set up along the back fence.

5) The turf on the football field is very dense. Arrows will hide under it very well. As we absolutely have to get every single arrow back off the field you will be asked to count your arrows coming in and going out. There will be a space for this on the score card given to you at the list table at the range entrance. If you lose one please let us know. I would also recommend very bright colors on your arrows and soft soled shoes.

6) To make the lines safer for everyone at this event, we are asking that you step back from the line when you are done with an end. We plan on providing racks for your bows. Please use them.

7) If you have a nifty novelty shoot and want to bring it, please contact the MIC (horsearcherwannabe@gmail.com) so we can schedule it in.

8) If you have clean empty milk jugs, please bring them for the jug shoot.
