Ermenrich and Kasha,
The spearlords of Cynnabar, see
That Our son Wulfstan
Is a worthy man.
He shored Us up,
Defended Us,
Lent Us his strength,
The most support.
Therefore to Wulfstan will We grant
Our Award of the Elephants Heart,
And We shall buy for him
A boat and beauteous oars
To go forth with vikings.

Stand in the stern,
Steer the dear vessel,
Hold course for a haven,
Hew down many foemen!

Let none countermand Our words.
